STOPGAP 1200 is a fast-acting, low-odour, two-component smoothing underlayment designed to prepare sound internal subfloors for the installation of new floor coverings. It dries quickly and sets rapidly, making it an efficient choice.
One of the notable features of STOPGAP 1200 is its suitability for use over various types of old adhesive residues, including bitumen and carpet tile tackifiers, without the need for priming. It can also be utilized for patch filling timber floors before overlaying them with plywood. Moreover, it meets the requirements for clinical and biologically sensitive environments like hospitals, laboratories, and clean rooms.
STOPGAP 1200, when mixed with STOPGAP 1200 Liquid, has undergone thorough testing in accordance with IMO 2010 FTPC Part 5 (IMO Res. MSC 307(88)) and Annex 2 item 2.2. It has been approved for marine applications and can be applied on suitably prepared steel decks in areas with light to medium-duty traffic. Please note that it is not intended for use as an integral component of a horizontal A-Class division. It has also received USCG approval No. 164.106/1121/WCL MED 0390.
Moisture does not affect the performance of STOPGAP 1200, making it suitable for application over damp, clean, and uneven concrete, as well as sand/cement screeds. After application, it can be used in conjunction with STOPGAP waterproof surface membranes or STOPGAP ISOLATOR MEMBRANE.
In addition to the aforementioned subfloor types, STOPGAP 1200 can be applied over various others, including STOPGAP waterproof surface membranes, sand/cement screed, concrete, granolithic, terrazzo, asphalt, steel, old vinyl asbestos tiles, epoxy and polyurethane resins, and ceramic and quarry tiles.
COVERAGE:
A 20kg bag of STOPGAP 1200 Powder, mixed with 5.0 litres of STOPGAP 1200 Liquid, will cover approximately 5.0m² at a thickness of 2-3mm.
